Direct Access can simply be defined as patients having direct access to physical therapy services at their own convenience.
This allows patients in the Davidson, North Carolina area and the rest of the state to receive treatment from a physical therapist without having or needing a physician referral or prescription. There are a few insurance carriers, however, that do require a Physician referral, such as Medicare and some out of state plans.
All of our physical therapists are educated at the doctoral level and have received extensive education and clinical training in the examination process and are qualified to recognize when a patient displays signs and symptoms outside of the scope of physical therapy. In the event that we identified a need, we would assist and recommend patients to the appropriate medical care.
